A hot new trend is the use of tapestries or tapestry-inspired fabrics in home decor. A mixture of modernized styles and colors is transforming the tapestry from its traditional design and giving the decorative treatment fresh appeal. As tapestries were traditionally used as “transportable decorations” and a form of insulation in cold wintery months, they now stand alone as intricate and one-of-a-kind art pieces. Upholstery and decorative accents are also mimicking the rich textures and patterns. The combination of old world craftsmanship and culture along with modern aesthetics definitely creates an eclectic look. What do you think, are tapestries drab or fab?
