One thing is true in design, that trends come and go, and “what’s in” tends to repeat itself through history. When it comes to wallpaper, graphic prints and bold colors are reintroducing themselves to recent design trends.
I can remember the wallpaper in my grandmother’s powder room so vividly. It was a jungle-themed green, pearl and mauve wallpaper with frogs. Now, of course, we have a more modernized collection of bold prints to choose from these days, but that element of “just a little over the top” is definitely back in style.
Even David Bromstad, host of HGTV’s Color Splash has a promising prediction about the decorative surface material;”Wallpaper is making a huge comeback,” says Bromstad. “We are going to see a lot more big, bold, graphic wallpaper like we used to see years ago.”
I think in the right application, a little drama and color is a good thing and can be a fun additional to your home. I would definitely pass over using the green and iridescent frog wallpaper, but I think we have some fun new options out there! What do you think?
